Marriage Protection Amendment - A Parody

Today, President George W. Bush announced his support of the Marriage Protection Amendment, which would seek to strengthen American Families, by addressing the serious problems that negatively affect the American Family: Poverty, Domestic Violence, Lack of Adequate Healthcare, Unemployment, etc.

President Bush was quoted as saying, "The union of two loving people in marriage is the most enduring and important human institution. For ages, in every culture, human beings have understood that marriage is critical to the well-being of families. And because families pass along values and shape character, marriage is also critical to the health of society. Our policies should aim to strengthen families, not undermine them."

President Bush then went on to describe his vision for a new bottom-line, that would require corporations to be socially responsible and bear the burdon of cleaning up after themselves, that would create good paying jobs and safe communities, and that would end racism and homophobia.

"Together, we can strengthen the American Family, create jobs, clean the environment that we live in and that is a part of us, and learn to respect and embrace the diversity that makes America great. God Bless."
