So, how did this article come to be?
Coincidentally enough, I had no plans for this to be some big news item. I just decided, on my own, to send the city council an email expressing my disappointment, and letting them know that it was a bad decision, because my wife, Cynthia, and I were not going to visit their city.
A friend on a yahoo group saw my response to the city council, and, I assume, was the one who contacted the reporter at the Chronicle. I actually think it's a very well written article and captured the essence of the story perfectly.
